Brief Description:Outwardly, Rune can often seem very cold, with at best a hint of emotion. Some days though he appears slightly more relaxed and normal, though seeming few and far between. He tends to try and keep things locked down from years of training to do so, and to keep things in check for his own and others safety. Also given his past, when like this, his morales can fall into a bit of a grey area. He understands why some steal, and is usually less bothered by it unless it's against those who likely aren't better off. Generally the more severe crimes though, he is prone to intervene when he can. That said, he's also the one to look and say that sometimes, you have to put a mad dog down, He generally abides by the laws he have to, but fails to understand why they attempt to "rehabilitate" those who clearly are beyond that and do horrible things. Which often leads to his lack of understanding of politics between the countries at times. He also despite being away from his home by light years, is still some what paranoid and mistrusting, and the kind to look seriously at some of the conspiracy theories.

Below that surface though, he's actually a very kind and caring individual. At times even when he's still acting cold sometimes it'll break through. While he can make the decision to trade one to save a thousand, it weighs on him far more than people would think. If one could see some of the moments in his past such as with his kids, they'd wonder how he's the same person. He actually doesn't really like locking his emotions down the way he does, but will admit that part of it is fear. Though, for all that control, when things happen to what few he let's close, he can be thrown off balance and anger takes over.

Rune was born on a planet closer to the center of the galaxy than earth is, and to his knowledge not yet even discovered by earth scientists yet. Unless it's been given one of their odd names. Though unlike many, his parents were actually rulers of one of the many countries on the "main continent". He grew up for roughly 6 years in the castle before his parents were murdered on their way back from a diplomatic trip. As he and his sister were too young to step up to the thrown, and his sister ineligible anyway after being born mute, his uncle stepped in to rule till he was old enough. For "Security" he and his sister were moved to a house further out away from the castle, where no one would really expect them to be, in case it was more than the "Random mugging" it was played off as, something his maternal grandmother was sure of as "No random thieves is going to be able to take down my half dragon daughter that easily". When she did visit, she often told Rune and his sister to not trust their uncle, as she always had her suspicions about him, however, Rune was also aware of the fact that his parents marriage had been arranged, and that initially both her and his mother had hated his father. But when he was 10 going on 11, she was proven right as one day, guards burst into the house at night, grabbing his sister and knocking him unconscious. However as he began to wake back up, he heard clanking of more guards, and heard them talk calling the other group "fools" for not killing him like they were apparently ordered.

So naturally, he ran, and ran, and ran. He tried stopping at some of the villages for any help, but it had come down that anyone aiding the "impostor" would be executed. So he had to eventually resort to stealing just to survive. Eventually he made his way out of his home country, but could only travel by night at first. His home had been among an ancient forest, the trees were tall with wide canopies and the towns were built in a way that not much sunlight came through, because there were those that couldn't stand it. He was adapted to darkness and low light, so being in the full view of the sun was blinding. When he moved by day it wasn't much and with the hood of a stolen cloak up to try and shield his eyes. It was a couple weeks before he made the next town, a relatively major one, but from the time he'd fled months before to now, his clothes had become tattered and dirty as had the cloak, and his hair rather unruly so when he eventually just collapsed in the street most people just passed him by. Just another poor beggar child in their minds.

Sometime after he passed out he woke up in a room with a couple of women washing his clothes and apparently looking after him. At first, they wouldn't tell him where he was when he struggled to ask, just told him to rest and stay in bed. It was a few days before he really had his strength and wits back at all, but he could notice of course there were several different women in and out of the room, and they weren't priestess's or healers, none he'd seen at least. They constantly had perfumes and the like, and he kept hearing things from other rooms. Finally there was a day he could stand well enough he started for the door and the pair in the room at the time finally relented that they would get their boss who had insisted she talk to him once he was well enough. He begrudgingly waited till an old yet youthful looking woman entered and told the other two to leave and tend to the bar for now. Before he could again ask the obvious question, she asked why one of "her girls" found the supposedly dead prince of Aerilon lying half dead in the streets of the town. Naturally he asked how she knew but she demanded her answers first, then, he'd get his. He explained what had happened, she explained the reason he had been kept in this room was that he was in a brothel, and that she knew who he was for various reasons, among them the fact there was a separate society underneath everything for the so called "dregs", and that the brown hair and green eyes he had at the time along with other features reminded her of his mother.

After several more conversations and days resting, she took him to one of the underground cities where those normal society wrote off stayed, and introduced him to one of the larger groups of thieves there was, so he could learn things like stealth and how to survive. Though, over time, he'd learn that the thieves, the assassins, and the brothels all worked together as one group, and so had cross training with certain aspects of the other two, namely fighting and the like from the assassins, and things about certain groups and blending in and the like from the brothel girls. Through it all though, he did have a drive for revenge that built as time went on, as it became apparent his uncle was still hunting him. Though, it faded a bit briefly when he met a girl he grew close to. She was sort of odd, but in a good and interesting way. And for a time then when he was 16, thought about maybe just settling with her. But that was taken away when his uncle had apparently learned he was staying with her. After he had left to run errands and all in town, his uncles men arrived there, and occupied there time till his return. When he opened the door and saw her on the floor he immediately went for one of his blades but the leader pulled her up by her hair and showed she was still alive with a knife to her throat, so when he was told to drop it, he did. However, it didn't stop them from slitting her throat in front of him anyway, which his first concern was a futile attempt to stop the bleeding and all. Initially as they laughed and one of them kicked him, he was just upset and starting to cry. The leader of the group continued to kick him around a bit, taunting him and that maybe they should have made it slower, like they were told to do with him. But after a couple minutes of this that felt like an eternity to him, Rune snapped. An energy built around him that they failed to notice at first till it turned a jet black and took a form that loosely resembled wings as he stopped another kick from landing and broke the mans leg.

That was the last thing he remembered of that night. When he awoke, once again he was in a bed. His maternal grandmother had tracked him down there and that he had been out for 3 days just from when she found him, ad wagered he'd been out at least a day before that. The best she could figure, the description of what happened to him that night fit an ability that ran in his father's side of the family, particularly the draining effect it had and how it left him with his hair now white and his eye colour changed to a more faded green torqouise like colour. Finally he asked about the rest of the details. Her response was that she buried "what was left of the trash" in a hole. For the time being though she was unsure what to do with his girlfriend so she had simply frozen her to keep her preserved till she found out what the plan was, as she was unsure what kind of rights or the like she would have wanted. They took her to the temple she had been with and they sorted out that part according to their traditions, the only thing he did was take a necklace of hers she wanted to go to her half sister.

For the next several years, when he wasn't furthering his training or on missions for the "guild", he was training with his grandmother that was teaching him how to make use of some of the abilities he had being part dragon and what limits and all he might have, and trying to make it clear to avoid fire. Though, that did not stop him from being put out of action twice with the group he was hired to be a part of after being set on fire by traps that for one reason or another he triggered. But other these years, between his uncles war of conquest, his personal hunt for Rune, and various other incidents, Rune saw many friends perish, and found the necklace coming back into his possession after finding the half sisters body, both killed and preserved by a trap she had been tricked into triggering in a double cross. He began to feel as if perhaps there was a curse on him that things like this kept happening.

One day though, they were sent to some ruins where a "spirit" resided. However, the so called spirit for the "millionth time" explained she was not a spirit, she was an artificial intelligence created a long time ago before an event known to them and at this point her as "the calamity", an event long in the past when their world had been considered far more technologically advanced, but something happened that the cities fell and the technology was abandoned or destroyed. All traces of the how and why were erased from records, to try and ensure it would never happen again. In a period of talking with this "AI" she mentioned a deal as he seemed to be smarter than all the other "primitives" that came and went from the place. She still had access to things like star charts of planets and all, so if he took her out of there, she'd help him get off the planet and some place at least similar enough to have fewer issues integrating, but "backwater" enough that his uncle would likely never find him. He agreed, thinking maybe it best that he go someplace else, perhaps even find allies to come back with one day to put an end to his uncles tyranny and madness. So he removed the chip and all as requested, and she stuck with him as he and his grandmother, among other refugee's, made it to one of the other continents that had maintained the technology for space travel to get off the planet.

It took some time, as it wasn't nearly as advanced as some newer ships, but the AI steered the ship to a planet that was younger, called "Terra" or "earth" by it's inhabitants. They managed to land somewhat stealthily, and hid the ship where it shouldn't be found. And the people scattered to the four winds to go make new lives. Rune, found his way to France, about a year before the outbreak of the second world war. It took him some time to learn the language, but he liked it, and the fact he could live a more normal life. But, after the invasion and occupation, he returned to what he knew best, fighting oppressive regimes indirectly. While in the resistance, he met a girl also fighting in it that he grew close to. And talked of settling down with once the war was over, as Rune had every intention of serving even after France was liberated. That however was cut short. At one point during the German retreat, the town they were in was shelled by the Germans, and his future wife was badly injured. While she was comatose and the doctors not sure she'd even wake up, he did one last operation, of he and several other enraged resistance members managing to run down the leader of the unit that had ordered the attack and kill him. After that though he returned to her bedside and almost never left till she woke up.

The injuries did change her. Not just physically but mentally. Some of he self confidence and spark had faded between scarring and loss of a leg. It made no difference to Rune though as he made good on every promise he could. All told they had three children together over a little over 15 years, the youngest being ten years younger than her other two sisters. But as she aged, despite what he could do in terms of making his hair fade closer to the now natural white and all, people started talking about how he didn't seem to age much and all. His wife of course knew everything, the entire truth of who and what he was. But those things so far had been kept from the children, they had wanted them to grow up leading normal lives, and were uncertain in the post war world just how safe it might be for anyone to know the truth. At his wife's urging he left, and while he did write as often as he could, and visited every so often when he felt he could sneak in, between the fact that they were unable to understand or unwilling even after learning the truth, and visits from their "aunt", actually Rune's grandmother when he himself never showed, the damage down to his relationship with his eldest daughters appeared irreparable, despite trying to contact them and talk to them, especially after their mothers death, they never reply or out right refuse. His youngest though, perhaps because she never really had as much time around him and was therefore perhaps curious and wanted to has at least been more receptive, but with Rune frequently on the move, it's still been decades since they've seen each other, but they do a times manage to at least talk through letters or as technology developed email. Though, he also feels she may have gotten more of his traits ability wise as when he was at his wifes funeral, he kept his distance knowing the eldest two would react poorly, they had already made a scene once when he showed up shortly after she passed, but his youngest looked several times, seeming as if she knew he was there. And while she won't out right confirm, as she has her own issues with him and his relationships, his grandmother has made comments that appear to be she has been teaching his youngest daughter things and how to control others.

But from the time he left France to the present, he has roamed the world over, making use of investments made years ago and all to stay off the grid, but have more than enough that his children can live comfortably, and he stays in places not exactly devoid of some level of luxury, the AI helping keep records straight in a manner that helps keep him hidden from history. While the world has opened up and gotten stranger, and while he's made appearances in many places with conflict, he's managed to remain more a rumor or myth and isn't really ready to reveal himself in that light. There are people he hears about that give him some faith in the humans to be open and good, like this so called "Captain America" he heard about and all, but some groups and people give him pause as much of what is in his family bloodline is considered myth on this planet, and would rather not have curious scientists wanting to run tests or dissect him. Especially after that weird day with that painfully blinding flash and sound. Even the AI hasn't figured out what exactly that was but all he knows is that while he still has all his knowledge and all, it has interfered with several of his normal abilities, though, purely physical traits weren't affected. But it has left him feeling a bit more vulnerable.

Weakness Name/Type: Bright light - normal daylight and even indoor lighting is a bit much for his eyes to take, so anything that creates a flash or brighter can easily cause him to lose his sight at least temporarily so he can't attack.

Heat - Generally, he doesn't fair well in hot weather, it's well out of his element.

Fire - Fire is generally bad for people as is in terms of being on fire, it's a lot worse for Rune because it's at least twice as bad (and painful)

Temper - while he is generally calm and cool, there are certain things that will just trigger him easily into anger to a point his decision making is impeded. Also can hold a grudge which at times has the same effect.

Technology - Rune has and understands the bare minimum of what he needs to for modern times, he's more reliant on the AI he brought with him for anything else, which is quite a bit.

Paranoia/trust issues - Reason's why Rune doesn't have a cell phone, he doesn't want anything on him the government or anyone else can use to track him (that he knows of). And while he tends to be more trusting of women, if he feels somethings off even just a little, it'll be difficult at best for him to trust the person/people even out of necessity.
